Tally reaches 126,019; death toll reaches 1955, Active cases around 800 in J&K, recovery rate almost 98 percent

Srinagar, Feb 23 (KNO): Covid-19 pandemic on Tuesday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,955 while as 94 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,019.

Of the exact number of 126,019 cases, 74,128 are from Kashmir and 51,891 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 94 new cases, 72 belong to Kashmir division while as 22 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,128 including 72,295 recoveries and 1,230 deaths while as total number positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,891 including 51,003 recoveries and 725 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 766 including 603 from Kashmir division and 163 from Jammu division.

With 62 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 123,298 which is 97.84 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 40 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 04 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 22 from Jammu division include 10 from Jammu, 08 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 26,834 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,031 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,216 including 175 deaths and 7,982 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,867 including 7,699 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Budgam, 5,842 including 5,712 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,677 including 96 deaths and 5,574 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,992 including 4,871 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,713 cases including 4,633 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,664 including 4,599 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,721 including 2,654 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,602 including 2,540 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,179 including 24,700 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,267 including 4,182 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,818 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,436 including 3,371 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,258 including 3,203 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,839 including 2,792 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,735 including 2,711 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,482 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,646 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,275,245 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,066 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 766 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,128,963 persons have completed surveillance period and 109,495 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,062,994 samples are available.

Out of 5,062,994 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,936,975 while as 126,019 have tested positive, among them 766 persons are active, 123,298 persons have recovered and 1,955 persons have died—(KNO)
