Covid-19 claims one more life, 94 test positive in J&K

Total cases 123,946; death toll reaches 1,929; recovery rate over 97 percent in UT

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded one more death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,929 in the Union Territory while 94 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 123,946 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 123,946 cases, 72,556 are from Kashmir and 51,390 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 94 new cases, 65 belong to Kashmir division while as 29 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,556 including 70,646 recoveries and 1,210 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,390 including 50,268 recoveries and 719 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,103 including 700 from Kashmir division and 403 from Jammu division.

With 88 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 120,946 which is 97.54 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 38 from Srinagar, 03 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 08 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 29 from Jammu division include 29 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours one persons who belongs to Kashmir division and was tested positive for COVID-19 has died.

As per officials figures, 26,005 positive cases including 453 deaths and 25,283 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,081 including 173 deaths and 7,857 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,744 including 7,575 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,690 including 5,541 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,640 including 95 deaths and 5,500 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,873 including 4,740 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,685 cases including 4,599 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,589 including 4,469 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,689 including 2,598 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,560 including 2,484 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 24,837 including 24,232 recoveries and 370 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,193 including 4,106 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,867 including 3,806 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,428 including 3,359 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,252 including 3,196 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kathua, 2,826 including 2,711 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,731 including 2,707 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,489 including 2,434 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,130 including 2,104 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,637 including 1,613 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,069,683 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,704 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,103 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 945,328 persons have completed surveillance period and 86,619 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,384,771 samples are available.

Out of 4,384,771 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,260,825 while as 123,946 have tested positive, among them 1,103 persons are active, 120,914 persons have recovered and 1,929 persons have died—(KNO)
