Srinagar, Oct 05 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Monday recorded 10 Covid related deaths and only 632 positive cases, signaling a dip in mortality rate and positive cases in the Union Territory.

With fresh ten deaths, the number of people who died of Covid infection so far reached to 1252 while as total tally of cases in J&K jumped to 79783.

Of the total 79,738 cases, 47,779 are from Kashmir and 31,959 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 632 new cases, 286 belong to Kashmir division while as 346 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 47,779 including 40,433 recoveries and 865 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 31,959 including 23,357 recoveries and 387 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 14,696 including 6,481 from Kashmir division and 8,215 from Jammu division.

With 1,386 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 63,790 which is 79.99 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 119 from Srinagar, 39 from Budgam, 28 from Baramulla, 15 from Pulwama, 23 from Kupwara, 20 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 19 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 346 from Jammu division include 173 from Jammu, 35 from Rajouri, 33 from Udhampur, 26 from Doda, 07 from Kuthua, 25 from Poonch, 10 from Samba, 02 from Ramban, 31 from Kishtiwar, and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, ten persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and five from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one each from Budgam, Baramulla and Bandipora in Kashmir division while as five from Jammu division include one each from Rajouri, Doda, Poonch, Ramban and Kishtiwar.

As per officials figures, 15,652 positive cases including 303 deaths and 13,491 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,114 including 88 deaths and 4,242 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,603 including 3,142 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,067 including 3,631 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,752 including 68 deaths and 2,970 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,644 including 3,080 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,583 cases including 3,129 and 40 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,009 including 2,731 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,301 including 2,154 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,054 including 1,863 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 14,687 including 11,074 recoveries and 203 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,824 including 2,213 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,402 including 1,967 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,311 including 1,379 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Doda, 2,147 including 1,854 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kuthua, 1,884 including 987 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Poonch, 1,864 including 1,291 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Samba, 1,398 including 1,156 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban, 1,404 including 736 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Kishtiwar and 1,038 including 700 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi

As per the daily information bulletin, 595,172 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 23,880 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 14,696 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 508,081 persons have completed surveillance period and 47,263 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,723,337 samples are available.

Out of 1,723,337 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,643,599 while 79,738 have tested positive, among them 14,696 are active, 63,790 persons have recovered and 1,252 persons have died—(KNO)
