Militants escape after brief gunfight with forces in Palahllan
Militants managed to escape from cordon after a brief gunfight with security forces at Palhallan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“This morning a gunfight broke out at village Palhallan here,” a police official posted in Baramulla told Press Trust of Kashmir.
“The gunfight broke out after contingents of forces and police were conducting searches on specific intelligence information suggesting presence of militants in the area”, he added.
Latter forces called off their operation at Palhallan after a brief gunfight with militants amid intense stone-pelting from protesters, reports said.
Pertinently hundreds of protesters took to streets and clashed with forces soon after the gunfight between militants and forces started in the area. The police and para-military CRPF used teargas shells and pellet firing to disperse the protesters, they said.
However, authorities also suspended mobile Internet service in Baramulla district, fearing it would mobilize people to stage protests, but restored latter
