Coalition govt has no moral responsibility to rule, if it thinks civilian killings are not an issue: Omar
Jammu: The Former chief minister and opposition National Conference leader, Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said the government has no moral responsibility to rule if the government thinks that civilian killings were not an issue.
While staging a walkout from the assembly, Omar said that civilians are being killed on daily basis. “If the government thinks that civilian killings are not an issue then this government has no moral responsibility to rule,” he said.
Accusing the government of killing civilians, referring to Tuesday’s killing of 22-year-old in south Kashmir’s Khudwani, Omar said that “Yesterday, the boy who was killed hadn’t picked up any gun, the boy had a bullet in his chest. Even ruling minister acknowledged the statement by saying “was the bullets fired on the ground or in air? We wanted to ask CM,” he said.
“Instead of reading it in newspapers, we wanted the CM to tell the same thing in the assembly but she didn’t come,” Omar said.
