Braid-chopping: Five injured after army opens fire in Anantnag village

Five persons were injured after army opened fire to disperse protesters following a braid chopping attempt in Wullerhama village of Salar area in Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Reports said that the residents chased an alleged braid chopper who tried to flee in an army vehicle in Wullerhama village.
They said that the residents pelted the vehicle with stones. Army men, they said, retaliated by opening fire.
“Five persons suffered bullet injuries,” they said.
Thre are reports of more pellet injuries but they couldn’t be confirmed officially.
