Three killed after car plunges into gorge on Kashmir highway
Three persons were killed and one injured after a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), belonging to Justice MK Hanjura, plunged into a deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.
Justice Hanjura was not travelling in the car.
An official said that an SUV, bearing registration number JK02 BB 6686, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near Seri Ramban today morning.
Quick Reaction Teams and police immediately carried out the rescue operation, he said, adding four injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban where three of them succumbed.
He said the vehicle was heading to Jammu from Srinagar when the accident took place.
The deceased were employees of the High Court. “Justice Hanjura was scheduled to reach Jammu by air,” said the official.
