No Smoking Day observed in Pulwama

Pulwama March 14, 2018: No Smoking Day was today observed in Pulwama,in this connection a function was organized by Health department Pulwama under the ages of Directorate of Health services Kashmir at DC office complex pulwama.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar was the chief Guest on the occasion.
The function was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development,Tehsildar , Chief Medical officer, Principal Govt Degree College,BMO Pampore ,Tral , Rajpora ,Chief Agriculture Officer ,Ex.Officer Muncipal Corporation and other officials from the health department.
It was informed that the main objective behind celebrating this day was to inform regarding the ill effects of smoking ,dangers of smoking and its impact on human lives.
Speaking on the occasion DDC said that the best way to celebrate this day is to create awareness among masses regarding the dangers of smoking and help them to quit it .
He said that smoking has become alarming and is very dangerous to human lives as it contains toxins in them that cause many different forms of cancer from the mouth to the lungs.
Dar said that in this regard collective efforts are needed to be taken to make Pulwama smoking free district and should stand against this menace for remarkable achievement .
He said all the officers are authorized to stop this menace at particular places especially public places, hospitals,offices,restaurents ,parks etc
He Congratulated the CMO for organizing this programme and stressed that such programmes should be conducted in future also.
He also exhorted upon the health officials for maintain the data of addicted persons in the District
