Weatherman predicts rain during next 24 hours
Srinagar: After a snowfall in the hills and moderate rain and snow in the plains of Kashmir on Monday, the night temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir is set to improve from today onwards, an official from MeT said.
After over a two-month-long dry spell, the Kashmir Valley received its first major snowfall this season on Monday.
The snowfall has, to a large extent, addressed the concerns of the residents, who were worried over the extended dry spell in winter.
An official from MeT department said that light rain is likely to occur during the next 24 hours, but overall the night temperatures have improved in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Srinagar city recorded 1.9, degree Celsius, while tourist destination Pahalgam was at minus 0.9 and minus 6.6 in Gulmarg.
While Jammu city recorded 9 degree Celsius, Katra 9.6, Batote 3.7, Banihal 2.1, Bhaderwah 2.4 and Udhampur 7.5.
