Kashmir braid cutting: Forces opens fire to disperse crowd in Chari Sharief
No one sustain injuries after the forces opened Ariel firing to disperse protesters rallying against braid-chopping after Friday prayers at Chari Sharief in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district .
According to reports, the locals carried out procession against braid chopping. When the residents pelted stones on police and security forces , forces retaliated by opening fire.However no one injured in the firing incident.
While talking to SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh,he said CRPF fired three to four rounds in the air to quell the mob.
Reports reaching here said that forces smashed window panes of the vehicles.
Braid-chopping incidents have set in a sense of insecurity among people. In last few weeks alone around 100 such braid chopping incidents took place across Kashmir.
Police has launched a mass scale investigation but with very little results so far. This has angered people even further. A lot of rumours have lead to an atmosphere of vigilantism with people trying to take things in their own hands and going out for night vigils in many localities.
