RSS statement: Delhi does not want a political solution, says Geelani
SRINAGAR: Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday said that J&K is the only place over globe, where people are traumatized and living in continuous pain and distress.
Shocked over the continuous attempts of strengthening status quo militarily, a statement issued by Geelani said people are pursuing their right to self-determination since past seventy years. “Their conviction and commitment are subjected to extreme brutalities as their commitment with cause is annoying and irk authorities in Delhi,” the statement quoting Geelani said.
Denouncing BJP and PDP led coalition for their unceasing attempts to temper state’s political, cultural, economic and historical status, Geelani said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagat and all those affiliated with ruling parties both in state and Delhi through their unwise statements are pleading and favouring complete integration of state with India.
“All these steps illustrate that India does not want to resolve Kashmir issue through political means,” Geelani said.
Geelani was quoted saying that since Kashmir’s “peaceful struggle for right self-determination” has passed on to third generation, he is confident that “our youth, intellectuals, lawyers, writers, journalists, trader’s fraternity and people from all walks will play assigned role for their democratic and political rights.”
Appealing UN and OIC, Geelani has stressed them to find durable and early settlement of Kashmir issue. He urged world leaders to take notice of the appalling situations in region and mounting tension between two nuclear powers and save humankind from going extinct.
